Flood Plain Development
Owners of property who desire to develop or enhance their properties within the flood plain with substantial construction projects will be required to complete a Waverly Flood Plain Development Permit Application and submit supporting documents on the project to the Zoning Office. Please allow for 3-5 business days for review. In some cases, additional consultation with City staff will be required. Flood plain permits do not have a fee.
Minor repairs to a structure do not require a flood plain permit. However, in all cases, a building permit application is required to be submitted to the Zoning Office for all interior and exterior work on a building. For new construction, a state-licensed surveyor will be required to complete an elevation certificate.

Some projects may require an elevation certificate. These applications are generally submitted by licensed surveyors as elevations are generally required. See Section 102 of the City of Waverly Code of Ordinances. Contact the Waverly Community Development and Zoning Office with any questions.
