Rail Trail - Friends of the TrailThe Friends of the Trail will be comprised of citizens interested in the promotion, expansion, improvement and maintenance of a trail system in and around Waverly. A Friends Steering Committee will be compromised of 5 members of the Friends of the Trail and a Parks and Recreation Commission Liaison.
The Steering Committee members will volunteer for 3 year terms except when the initial Steering Committee is appointed: one member will be for one year, two will be for two years and two will be for three years. 
Officers The Steering Committee shall have a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson and Secretary elected at the first meeting of each even numbered year.
Duties and Powers To recommend to the Parks and Recreation Commission a long-term capital improvement plan.
To be pro active in recruitment of volunteers, applying for grants and fundraising to improve existing and future facilities.
To coordinate activities with the Parks and Recreation Department staff who will provide communication with the City Council and Administration.
To promote the public use of all alternative transportation routes which will benefit the residents of Waverly.
To recommend to the Parks and Recreation Commission policies operation of all function of trail use, volunteers, adjacent property owners and donations. Friends of the Trail Registration Form Thanks for your support! |
