Waverly Rail Trail has 7 miles of asphalt pedestrian trail beginning south of Nestle Beverage and proceeding southeasterly to 1 mile north of Denver, Iowa where it links with the Jefferson Trail into Denver.  6th Avenue & 1st St. NW, 2nd Ave & Cedar Lane NE, Bremer Ave & 3rd St. NE, 1st Ave & 4th St. SE, 415 30th St. SE.  http://city.waverlyia.com/rail_welcome.asp

Adams Parkway is a green space on both sides of First Street NW from 9th Avenue to 7th Avenue NW.  Crabapple and Hawthorne trees have been recently transplanted to the park.

Brookwood Park is a large area along the Cedar River south of the Green Bridge. It has the Green Bridge Disc Golf Course. Brookwood has several mature trees, open space and a undeveloped area to the east along the river. There are walking trails in the undeveloped areas. There is a non-motorized boat ramp. Fishing is very popular. 6th Ave. SE  

Cedar Hill Park is a natural stand of hardwoods in the Murphy addition. It is on sandy soils and has an overlook over the Cedar River. Nature trails are marked and identified. Brown Lane. 

Crestwood Park is a water retention area in Southeast Waverly. It has some open space and a sand volleyball court. East of 4th St. SE and North of 8th Ave. SE.  
 
Eastgate Park is in the northeast corner of Eastgate subdivision. It has a play unit, basketball courts, backstop and open area. There is a waterway splitting the park and a bridge to connect the two sides. Corner of Elm and Maple NE. 

First Home Park is a small area with new Gametime playground equipment and swings. It has a basketball slab. 2nd Ave. and Iowa St. SW.

Gateway Park is an open space area across the street from Juhl Park. It has a neighborhood play field and some nice trees. 9th Ave. and Kenyon Drive NW.

Half-Circle Park is a small green space shaped in a half-circle. 2nd Ave. SW.  

Hickory Heights Park has Gametime playground equipment and swings, backstop, basketball slab, open area and tree plantings. West end of Park Ave.

Juhl Park has a recently installed new play unit and a basketball slab. 9th Ave. and 9th St. NW.  Juhl Park 2

Kiwanis Park is a small park adjacent to the 3 diamond Little League complex. It has play equipment for mostly smaller children. 3rd Ave. SE.

Knott's Playlot is an area next to a well where a basketball court was constructed. 6th Ave. and 6th St. NW.  

Kohlmann Park is 4 blocks long along the Cedar River. It has a play unit, swings, new recreational trail 2 new shelters, new restrooms, and the Engelbrecht house. It is the closest park that we have to a town square. An ice rink is constructed in the winter.  1st St. NW.  Picture 2

Memorial Park is the main city park in town. It has the 3 lighted ball diamonds, newly renovated outdoor swimming pool with 2 water slides, large wooden play unit (Kid's Kingdom), two restroom facilities, log cabin, four picnic shelters, concession stand, and Fairgrounds buildings. It is north of the Municipal Golf Course. 5th Ave. and 4th St. SW.  Picture 2  Picture 3  

Pelikan Park is along the back waters of the Cedar River. It is popular for fishing and ice skating. Cedar Lane east of Horton Road. 

Ridgewood Park is a green space next to the river. Ridgewood Blvd. Picture 2

Rolling Meadow Park is 2.3 acres and has new playground equipment and swings, beautiful landscaping, a new full court basketball court, and a play area in the middle of the park.  Robertson Road south of the High School.

Rugby Field is a large water retention area used for adult rugby. It has a porta-potty and some evergreen plantings. 3rd Ave. and 21st St. NW

South Riverside Park is south of the Fire Station and is along the Cedar River for 5 blocks. It has a new recreational trail, shelter, porta-potty, new playground equipment and some undeveloped area to the south. Fishing is popular along the river in this park. The Park Maintenance and Rec Storage buildings are located in this park. 1st St. SW.

Three Rivers Park has a double boat ramp and a boat dock. It is adjacent to the Waverly Light and Power Duck Pond area. The Duck Pond is popular for hiking and fishing. 1000 Adams Parkway NW.  Picture 2 

Willow Lawn has a play unit, swings, basketball slab, and back stop. It has had extensive tree plantings. It is pie shaped with houses on two sides and street on the other. 24th St. NW.    Picture 2
