Garbage RatesBase Rate: $ 8.00 per month - The City of Waverly’s Solid Waste Division charges a base rate for garbage collection which is paid monthly by residents. This base rate covers fixed expenses such as the Recycling Center, Curbside Recycling Truck, Yard Waste Site Operation, Maintenance of Garbage Trucks, and the Employee Labor Costs. Garbage Sticker: $1.25/Sticker NOTE: If you use a garbage can that is greater than 33 gallons, you will be required to use 2 garbage stickers for a full can. – The City of Waverly requires its residents to place a garbage sticker on each 33-gallon can or bag for collection. This system works well and is fair to all residents because the residents who set out more garbage pay more than those who set out less garbage. This unit-based pricing makes the services of garbage collection and disposal more like a regular utility. When you use more water or electricity, you expect to pay more because you’re using resources. Unit-based pricing encourages you to recycle and reduce your waste before you throw it away. |
