Used Book Sales:
The Friends have used books available for purchase daily in the lobby and Friends' Room during Library hours.

Books sell for $1 or less. You may drop off book contributions at the Library during hours open.

Used Magazine Sales:
Recycling at its best takes place when patrons bring current (past two years only) magazines to the table in the Library's lobby just outside the door to the Friends' Room. Interested people buy these donated issues at 10 cents a copy and simply leave the money with library staff or in the Friends' box at the circulation desk.  These magazines are used at least twice and the Friends have funding for projects such as the Summer Library Program.

Bus Trips to Waverly PL
Costs for monthly WPL visits are paid by Friends for Grades K-4. Many generous members have made extra contributions to keep this program in place. A trip can be sponsored for approximately $25. You, too, can participate by writing a check to the Friends of the Waverly Public Library and specifying that it is for the busing program.

Presentations and Prizes
Friends fund special programs and some of the prizes for the Summer Library Program for elementary school age children and for preschool age children. The special live presentations are both educational and entertaining. Reading encouragement is featured throughout.

Books for New Babies
In cooperation with Waverly Municipal Hospital, Friends present a new book to each baby born at Waverly Municipal Hospital each year.

Books for Kindergarteners
The Friends present a new book to each kindergartener at WSR.

"Extras"
Supplementary support has been provided from time-to-time for developing or upgrading special collections such as DVD's and adding accessories or furnishings for the community through its Library. A plaque near the Friends' Room door identifies these gifts.

Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting keeps the records straight and allows for recognition of accomplishments and planning for more sharing with the community through the Library. Make new friends and join us for the Annual Meeting. See the Library calendar for the date and time.

Mysteries and Munchies
Books by Mystery authors are discussed on the second Sunday beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the Library. Friends sponsor this delight for book and mystery lovers and Mary Schmidt, columnist, plans and leads the discussions. Open to all. No charge.

Celebrity Readers at Waverly PL
During the month of April, "Celebrities" are asked to come to the Library and read to school classes. What a treat to see that very important book and literacy connection modeled by our own leaders!

Halloween Specials
For fun and for funds, Friends sponsor a Family Halloween Storytelling session just before Halloween.  The session is for Preschoolers to 6th graders with their parents or other guardians.  Admission is $1 per person attending.
