RezoningOwners of property may apply to rezone their property through the rezoning process. The entire process takes, on average, approximately 3 months, contingent upon two public hearings and three readings of the ordinance amendment. Requests are to be accompanied by a list of all surrounding property owners within 250 feet of the property, a legal description of the property, and a $125.00 fee. Subdivision
Owners of property may apply to subdivide or split their property. A licensed land surveyor will be required to produce the plat. The process for a minor subdivision or parcel split takes approximately one month if formal approval is required, and requires a $25.00 fee. The process for a major subdivision takes approximately 3 to 4 months, or longer depending upon the selected engineer, and requires a total fee of $175.00. Subdivision Application (PDF File) Flood Plain DevelopmentOwners of property who desire to develop or enhance their properties within the flood plain will be required to complete a Flood Plain Development Permit Application and submit supporting documents pertinent to the project. Flood plain permits do not have a specific fee. These applications are generally submitted by licensed surveyors as elevations are generally required.
