BUILDING TRADES - Permits Building Permits The Bremer County Building Department accepts applications, issues permits, and performs inspections for building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical activities for the City of Waverly. Below are links to the Permit Application forms that can be printed off, completed and returned to the Bremer County Building Department. These permit applications can be completed and submitted online or taken to the Bremer County Building and Zoning office located in the lower level of the Bremer County Court House at 415 E. Bremer Avenue, Waverly, IA.
Inspections are required on all work for which permits are issued. The type and number of inspections required depends on the type of work that is being done. Advance notice is required to allow staff ample time to schedule inspections. Inspections should be requested by the permit holder 24 hours in advance by calling the Bremer County Building Department at (319)352-0332. Effective April 1, 2005, a license and permit bond is no longer required by Bremer County. Contractors are required to be insured in the amount of $50,000. A current certificate of insurance needs to be provided to the Bremer County Building & Zoning Department at 415 East Bremer Avenue, Waverly, IA 50677. |
